Acknowledgement of Country

We thank the KARI foundation and Yaama Boys for their unique Acknowledgement of Country to pay respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

The Yaama Boys are a traditional inspired Aboriginal dance group from Western Sydney who use their cultural learnings passed down from elders to celebrate Australia's first nation's people.

In their Acknowledgment of Country, proud Bundjalung woman Karah and the Yaama Boys performed a 'cleansing' ritual of the NorthConnex tunnel ahead of its opening. The young group enjoy sharing their inclusive performances, which allow all Australians a pathway to reconciliation.

KARI is an Aboriginal organisation based in Western Sydney, established with the purpose of advancing the lives of Aboriginal families, children and young people.
