Blue forest

In tunnel lighting features are designed to keep drivers engaged as they travel through the nine kilometre tunnel. The forest silhouettes are inspired by the Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park in the north.

Starscape

The contemporary in tunnel lighting features provide a visual cue to break up the tunnel, making it safer and more interesting to drive through. The features are around 160 meters in length and only take a few seconds to drive through.

Southern entry

The southern entry is the main access point direct from the M2 Motorway and is home to our largest native bird installation. Its yellow colouring represents the Sydney sandstone and the urban environment of the city.

Hornsby Quarry

More than one million cubic metres of NorthConnex spoil partially filled Hornsby Quarry, laying the foundations for Hornsby Council to turn the disused site into the Centennial Park of the north.
